Your Questions Answered
______________________________________________________________
DO YOU OFFER A FREE CONSULTATION?
Yes! Please feel free to call or email me directly. I am happy to take 15 minutes or so to answer any questions you may have regarding therapy and get a sense of whether or not we may be a good working “fit”. If so, we can proceed with setting up an appointment. If not, I will do my best to point you in the direction of another clinician or referral source that may be better suited to your needs.
WHAT ARE YOUR FEES?
Please feel free to give me a call directly to discuss the fee. The session fee is due at the time of appointment. If you are unable to make your appointment and do not cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours prior to the appointment time, you will be charged in full for the session.
DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
I am considered an “out of network” therapist and can provide you a “superbill” to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. A “superbill” is a receipt for therapeutic services obtained upon request. If you are unsure what percentage of the fee your insurance company will reimburse, contact them directly and ask your provider what your policy will cover.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
The number of sessions you need will largely be determined by the complexity of the issue that brings you into therapy, therapeutic goals, the consistency with which you attend sessions, and how you utilize what is done in the session in your everyday life. Many factors play a role in significant personal and relational change, so assigning a specific number of sessions at the outset of therapy is difficult and can be misleading. However, therapy is a choice, not a mandate, and an ongoing conversation about when you feel ready to end therapy is a part of the process.
WHAT ARE YOUR QUALIFICATIONS?
I have been in private practice since 2008. Since then, I have worked with a wide range of challenges, ages, and family constellations. I have been extensively trained in sex/love/porn addiction, infidelity repair, sex therapy, and couples therapy. I continually expand my knowledge base and scope of competence through professional training, and my personal experiences as a human, mother, wife, friend, and daughter all inform my work.
DO YOU OFFER SESSIONS VIRTUALLY OR IN-PERSON?
I offer both virtual and in-person sessions. My preference is to meet in person, given how consequential non-verbal cues and body language are in relationship, and the ability to pick up on those cues is markedly diminished in virtual sessions. However, virtual sessions are possible if you are unable to come to my office.
CAN THERAPY HELP ME?
Therapy can be transformative and beneficial for a variety of life’s challenges, including but not limited to:
-communication in relationships, both personal and professional
-intimacy/sexual difficulties
-betrayal and infidelity
-addiction and codependence
-parenting challenges
-aging, death and dying, grief and loss
